Peritus
has a long-term working relationship with one of the state offices of the
Department of Public Health. This brief summary will focus on a multilingual
project, the translation of nutrition cards for infants and babies from English
to Brazilian and Continental Portuguese, French, Russian, Traditional Chinese,
and Vietnamese.
Goal: The nutrition cards were meant as an educational element
in U.S. immigrants’ integration process. The Peritus Team was asked to take
into account that many of the immigrants from some of the countries mentioned
above have low education and literacy levels. In addition to these factors, the
translations still had to be accurate.
The
client contacted us in order to discuss the various implications as outlined
above. The Peritus project manager also made sure that details about the final
layout and format of the nutrition cards were clear and would meet our
client’s specifications.
Two days
after handing in the project, the Peritus project manager contacted our client
to make sure that the assignment had been received and delivered according to
their expectations. Our client was very pleased with the final outcome, and
expressed that the Peritus Team had delivered a product that matched their
expectations.
