Linguistic QA Services

Quality Assurance can be conducted either virtually, on documents and application files, or on-site. Peritus has qualified translators available for on-site quality assurance work in most major U.S. cities and some overseas locations.

Following is a brief overview of Peritus' standard quality assurance process.

First Edit/Review

Editing requires that a second equally skilled translator reviews both the original document and the translated document sentence by sentence, phrase by phrase. The Peritus editor has to follow a project specific checklist to ensure e.g. that correct terminology was used, and other stylistic and industry-specific guidelines were followed, check for grammar, syntax, spelling errors and also make sure that the essence of the source document has not been lost during translation.

Second Review/Proofreading

If your project includes DTP/Graphic Services, we strongly recommend a second review after the translation has been implemented into the graphic files. This review is important for several reasons:

  • Ensure that changes from first edit were implemented
  • Check for potential new linguistic errors due to formatting errors
  • Double-check graphic formatting

Final Proofing Rounds

Depending on the nature of the project as well as the number of changes that were required during the second review cycle, a number of final proofreading rounds and corrections may be necessary until the document fulfills our standards.
