Localization

Software localization requires more than linguistic quality. Other criteria are:

  • Common sense translation of functions, strings, dialog boxes, user interface, help files, user documentation
  • Experience of our translators and reviewers in software localization
  • Multiple reviews and application testing after localization
  • Timely delivery to help clients optimize time-to-market
  • Flexibility - e.g. being able to help with last-minute requests
  • Translators' requisite expertise in the field in which the software is utilized (e.g. financial, telecommunications, e-commerce, banking, etc.). All the computer expertise in the world still leaves the translator clueless when a help file contains pages upon pages of dense accounting jargon
  • Communication - and creating a true team between translators, editors, project managers, and client liaisons
